Challenges I Will Face
And How I will Overcome Them
ADHD
One of my biggest challenges is managing ADHD, which can make it difficult to stay focused and organized. However, I’ve learned to use tools and techniques like structured schedules, removing distractions and productivity apps to stay on track. Additionally, I plan to take advantage of SPSCC’s Counseling Services, which can provide strategies for managing ADHD effectively, such as breaking large tasks into smaller, more manageable steps.
Work Life Balance
Balancing personal life, schoolwork, and my career is another challenge I expect to face. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by so much, so I’ve started developing boundaries and prioritization techniques through assignments like the time management project. SPSCC’s Academic Support Center can provide additional support, helping me to manage academic workloads without sacrificing personal time or my mental health.
Mental Health
Pursuing a degree while managing external pressures can be very difficult. I recognize that staying emotionally healthy is required for my success, so I plan to monitor my mental health closely. SPSCC offers Mental Health Counseling Services, which I can access whenever I feel overwhelmed. I am also signed up for mental health services through a local program so I have access whenever I need or feel overwhelmed.
